Labor Day originated in 1882 as a day off for the working man. Labor Day is observed on the first Monday in September. This year it lands on September 1st.
Traditionally, Labor Day is celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer.
Today, Labor Day is often regarded as a day of rest and often the day includes picnics, barbecues, fireworks displays, water sports, and public art events. Families with school-age children take it as the last chance to travel before the end of summer. In addition, Labor Day marks the beginning of the season for the National Football League and NCAA College Football.
With all that in mind, remember to have several cozybagz on hand. Keep a few in the freezer; the Neck size is great for sore muscles from a day of touch football and Frisbee throwing. The Eye size is perfect to toss in a picnic basket to keep cold foods fresh. The Hand size works wonders when applied to mosquito bites. Warm the neck size and wrap it around the baked bean casserole or alternate the heat and cold on strains and sprains for fast relief. Whatever your Labor Day tradition, you will find lots of uses for all of your cozybagz. Have a safe and fun day!

I am not one to put the cart before the horse on most occasions; however between the price of gasoline, the rising cost of food and the reports of rising home heating and energy bills I am planning ahead this year.
We have made choices to help make mother earth a better place in our home by using cloth grocery bags as often as possible, and using our programmable thermostat. We try to make well educated choices when it comes trying to reduce our carbon footprint and now with the rising prices of just about everything we are being forced to consider our spending patterns.
One change we are going to be considering is how to best heat our home in the coming cooler months. We have several cozybagz around our house and have used them in a variety of ways including heating our bed before getting in on those cold nights. The money saving benefit here is that we do not need to turn up the thermostat until the morning. We also have a neck size cozybag that is by the doors so that we reduce the extra leakage of air underneath the door. Overall these are not huge changes, but are adding up to savings over the cooler months. If you are as concerned as we are with all these rising prices start thinking now about small changes such as these that will help save a few dollars before we get into crunch time.
Summer is a great time to stock up on Cozybagz. They make a great stocking stuffer and are soothing year round gifts.

Here’s a quick fact: Did you know that if you use your microwave for less than about 7 minutes a day, the clock on the front of your microwave uses more energy than you are using to cook food or heat your cozybag?
Any microwaveable heating bag can save you money on your heating bill. The reason is simple, microwaves are much more efficient at transferring heat to your body through the use of a heat bag or pad than any other form of heat available. The logic is actually very easy to understand. Most heat in peoples’ homes are provided by some sort of radiant heat. Be it gas fired furnaces, electric base boards, oil heaters, electric heat pumps, or even wood burning fire places. The heat they all produce has one thing in common: it is used to heat your entire home. It takes a LOT of energy to heat your entire home.
The microwave is a device that excites water molecules directly to heat up whatever you put in it. There is very little wasted energy used to heat up the rest of the microwave. You can tell this is true because you can usually open up your microwave door after it has heated up something and put your hand right on the inside of the microwave. Don’t try this with your oven! All of that heat that makes the inside of your electric or gas oven is wasted heat. Because they only heat up the water molecules, almost all of the energy a microwave uses gets put into your heating bag. Then, when you pull out your neck warmer or hand warmer it isn’t releasing that energy to heat up your house, it’s heating you up instead.
It really is amazing how much our neck warmers can heat you up, letting you keep your thermostat at a lower temperature. It has been said that For every degree you turn your home’s thermostat down you take about 2 percent off your energy bill. With cozybagz warming our feet or neck we can easily keep our thermostat lower than it would normally be.

Tired of all those plastic bags? Want to make your very own trendy reusable tote? Here’s how to turn an old favorite t-shirt into a new one-of-a-kind tote:
1. Using a sewing machine, sew bottom of T-shirt closed. For a funky look, try using a large or x-large size and (with right side out) sew a seam about 4″ from the bottom of the T-shirt, then cut the bottom portion into thin strips to make a fringed look.
2. Cut a larger hole in the neck, in order to create an opening for the bag that’s larger than what the neck hole allows.
3. The last step is to cut off both sleeves along the seams, making sure to go through both sides of the shirt.
The larger size is great for groceries and can be tossed into the washer if needed. Try using different sizes. I found that medium women’s T-shirt worked well for most of my shopping needs. or try using an infant size T-shirt with a fun print to carry snacks or small toys.
Having different sizes of cozybagz are great to have on hand to meet your different needs. The large 6″x18″ or organic 6″x24″ size is great for the neck and back. Used cold, the 4″x8″ size is a wonderful relief for puffy eyes, and heat up those 4″x4″ hand warmers for chilly mornings.

Soaker hoses target the plants roots and water more deeply and gently than spraying or using a sprinkler. This is more efficient and less water is lost to evaporation. Just drill small holes along the length of the hose and cap off the end. Place the hose next to the plants, or, for an invisible watering system, bury the soaker hose in a shallow trench alongside your plants. If you want to save even more water; lay your hose alongside your plants “before” drilling and then drill only in the section adjacent to the plant, that way you are not watering the ground between plants.
Use your cozybagz to sooth aching muscles after a long day of gardening. Reusing your cozybagz is another good way to reduce waste.

“Psychologically, pink has been judged the ’sweetest’ color” (Vargas 1986:144). Pink causes the hypothalamus to signal the adrenal glands to slow their secretions, thus reducing heart rate and blocking anger (Brain/Mind Bulletin, reported in Science Digest, Nov./Dec., 1980, p. 26).
Purchasing the Lilac or Brown Rose Cozybag may make you think about things that are soft, sweet, nurturing and secure.

Add blue to your diet………it may help you to lose weight! Did you know that blue is an appetite suppressant? This may possibly be because there are very few naturally blue foods.
Some weight loss plans suggest putting your food on a blue plate. You can also try putting a blue ligh bulb in your refrigerator. If you are really serious, you might even try painting your kitchen or dining room walls blue and see what happens. Good luck!
Choosing a blue Cozybag will elicit feelings of peace, tranquility and relaxation. The powder blue flannel with little golfer stripe cuff 6″x18″ neck size is warm and comforting.
